2008-2009
The pictures of the family-run travelling circus STARLIGHT capture the private and social realities of the milieu. They tell the genuine story of the life of a circus family. The pictures of the plate-juggling boy Giovanni are impressive and poetic: A moment of total concentration shortly before his appearance in the ring – solemn and delicate at the same time. In a brief and truthful glance, the essence of the person behind the typical circus pose is expressed. Not least the solidarity of an extended family is documented in its everyday nomadic existence between caravan and circus tent.
